LEWISTON – After a lengthy investigation by the Lewiston Police Department, charges were filed today for 1st Degree Murder against Kim Morrison and Kay Morrison for the death of Kenneth Morrison on January 7, 2022.
The investigation allegedly shows that Kim and Kay both played a part in drugging Kenneth and then suffocating him in their home. Investigators learned by text messages, Kim and Kay developed a plan to give Kenneth Lorazepam and Liquid Morphine without his knowledge over several weeks. According to the probable cause document, Kay has been allegedly “dosing” Kenneth for several years.
Then on January 7th, Kim and Kay taped Kenneth to a wheel chair and suffocated him with a bag over his head. After Kenneth was deceased, his body was most likely burned in the rear of the shop.
“It is a dark day in our community when people do this to their own family,” said Prosecutor Justin Coleman. “This was a long term, coordinated plan on behalf of the defendants that included attempts to poison the victim which eventually lead to him being tied down and suffocated.”
Both defendants appeared in front of Magistrate Judge Seubert today and their bond
was set at $1 Million each. The next court hearing will be in the coming weeks.
The Nez Perce County Prosecutor’s Office would like to thank the Lewiston Police Department, FBI’s Evidence Response Team, Idaho State Police, and the Quad Cities Task Force for their considerable efforts in putting this case together. Each agency played a vital role in getting justice for Kenneth Morrison and the Prosecutor’s Office appreciates their diligent work.
