Jefferson College Transfer Guimaraes to Join Warrior Volleyball

LEWISTON, Idaho – Lewis-Clark State Volleyball inked its first signee under Head Coach Katie Palmer in Jefferson College’s Natany Felix Guimaraes. The libero/defensive specialist will join the Warriors in the fall out of Brazil.

“Natany is a fierce competitor,” Palmer said. “She will elevate our gym immediately as an international player coming in from a country that is a leader in the volleyball world for ball control and defense.”

A native of Curitiba, Parana, Guimaraes played two seasons at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Mo., where she ranked in the top 20 of the NJCAA in digs per set (4.69). She tallied 31 service aces, 57 assists and 413 digs. She helped the Vikings to a 10th-place finish at the NJCAA national tournament in 2021, the program’s first appearance in 10 years. Guimaraes was voted second-team all-region and first-team all-conference.

“On top of being an outstanding player, Natany is also an incredible student and teammate,” Palmer added. “Immediately after our first phone call I knew she would embody our five core values and live out The Warrior Way on the court, in the classroom, and throughout the community.”

Guimaraes prepped at Circulo Militar do Parana where she played a key role in multiple state and regional titles. She was voted the best libero in the regional championship in 2019.

“I chose LC State because of the amazing athletic department and academic programs,” Guimaraes said. “Also, there’s an incredible family atmosphere that I was looking for to be my next school. I am so excited to be a Warrior.”
