“Today we said goodbye to our trusted and loyal K9 Marta. K9 Marta served the citizens, LPD, and the City of Lewiston as our narcotics K9 since 2013. K9 Marta was instrumental in so many drug investigations and convictions in Lewiston and the surrounding region.

Recently K9 Marta fell ill with a aggressive cancerous tumor that made it necessary to have her put to rest. K9 Marta was an integral part of not only our region’s narcotic investigations, but also a beloved member of the LPD family.

Sgt Chris Reese and his family have been her home since she came to LPD. We want to thank Sgt Reese and his family for their dedication to our K9 program and giving K9 Marta such a wonderful home.
