On October 19, 2023, at approximately 12:06 PM, Idaho County Dispatch took a call about a shoplifting incident in the Riggins, Idaho area.
Idaho County Deputies responded and met with the reporting party. The investigation into this incident continued and it was discovered that over a period of time there were multiple shoplifting incidents involving this subject.

On October 26, 2023, Cynthia Gardiner, age 41, of New Meadows, Idaho, was arrested for Grand Theft.
