Nez Perce National Historical Park Museum Closed for Remodel

LAPWAI, Idaho – The Nez Perce National Historical Park is closing the Visitor Center at Spalding to allow for an extensive museum remodel. The center will close Sunday, December 3, 2023, and is projected to remain closed until late spring of 2024.
This will be the first major remodel of the Visitor Center that opened in 1979. The Nez Perce National Historical Park focuses on the people and culture of the Nez Perce Tribe. The Visitor Center provides a 23minute film “Of One Heart,” exhibits, displays, and Ranger programs for the public. Several new exhibit cases, exhibit items, and content will update the look and feel of the center, as well as allow for an expanded history to be told.
The historic picnic area will remain open to the public, along with all other Nez Perce National Historical Park sites.
Nez Perce National Historical Park’s Spalding Visitor Center is located 12 miles east of Lewiston at 39063 U.S. Highway 95. Park admission is free year round.
