2024 Cascade Conference Men’s Basketball Semifinal Preview

LEWISTON, Idaho – With a victory against Eastern Oregon on Wednesday, LC State will host No. 17 Oregon Tech in a semifinal matchup on Saturday as part of the Cascade Conference Men’s Basketball Championship, presented by U.S. Bank. The second-seeded Warriors defeated third-seeded OIT in both meetings during the regular season.

No. 2 Seed –LC State Warriors (22-7, 19-3)

LC State swept the season series against Oregon Tech and was the only CCC program to sweep both OIT and Southern Oregon during the regular season. The Warriors took the contests by finals of 87-75 and 97-84.

Davian Brown led the Warriors in the win in Lewiston with 19 points and Jaedon Bradley added 17. LC State outrebounded Oregon Tech 34-27 in the contest and shot 52.6% from the floor.

Six Warriors scored in double-figures in the game on the road, led by 19 from Bradley and 18 from Alton Hamilton. LC State blocked 10 shots in the contest and shot 59% from the field with a 41-32 rebound margin.

LC State is second in the CCC in scoring margin (10.9), free throw percentage (.745), and blocked shots per game (3.7).

Brown is third in the CCC in free throw percentage (.877) and Sam Stockton is fifth in steals per game (1.4). Quentin Raynor is second in 3-pointers made per game (2.6) and Bradley is fourth (2.5). Raynor is fourth in assist/turnover ratio (3.3).

No. 2 Seed – No. 22 Oregon Tech Owls (24-5, 18-4)

Oregon Tech lost four games in all of CCC play, with two to LC State and two to No. 3 College of Idaho. The Owls have been one of the best offensive teams in the CCC this season.

The Owls’ Jamison Guerra led all scorers when they faced LC State in Lewiston with 23 points. Kam Osburn was the leading scorer for OIT on the Owls’ home court with 18 points.

OIT leads the CCC in field goal percentage (.513) and is second in 3-point percentage (.389), rebounding defense (31.8), rebounding margin (6.8) and assists per game (17.2).

Guerra leads the CCC in assists per game (7.0) and is third in assist/turnover ratio (3.5). Keegan Shivers ranks fifth in the conference in rebounding (7.9), Blake Jensen is second in field goal percentage (.624)

THE REST OF THE FIELD

Top-seeded College of Idaho will host fourth-seeded Southern Oregon. The winner of each contest will advance to the CCC tournament title game on Tuesday.
