ELK RIVER – The Idaho State Police (ISP) investigated a single-vehicle injury crash that occurred on Monday, May 27, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., on State Highway 8, 7 miles west of Elk River.
A press release from ISP details that a 2020 Polaris General UTV driven by a 26-year-old male from Lewiston, ID, was traveling westbound on Highway 8 near milepost 46 when the vehicle struck a deer. The driver lost control and the vehicle overturned.
A 55-year-old man from Juliaetta, was also in the UTV when it crashed . The passenger was transported to the hospital via air ambulance. Evidence was found on the scene to indicate that drugs and/or alcohol may have been involved in this crash. This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
