Snowmobile Rider Rescued After Crash in Rural Idaho County

(Grangeville, ID) One person was rescued by a Montana air rescue crew on Tuesday after a snowmobile crash was reported to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 11:12 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, Idaho County Dispatch received a text to 911 from a caller advising that there was a snowmobile crash near Rudd Moore Lake.
Dispatch contacted Two Bear Air out of Flathead County, Montana, and requested they attempt to rescue the injured party, as weather conditions made flight questionable.  Rudd Moore Lake is located in the back country, east of US12, near the Idaho-Montana border.
Dispatch also contacted Ravalli County Search and Rescue in case a ground rescue was necessary.
At 2:18 p.m. Tuesday, dispatch confirmed Two Bear Air was able to rescue the injured snowmobile rider and transported him to Missoula.  The identity of the snowmobile rider and the extent of their injuries was not released.
