CLARKSTON, WA – A Clarkston man faces multiple felony charges following a high-speed pursuit that led to his arrest and the seizure of fentanyl, firearms, and cash, according to court documents filed in Asotin County Superior Court.

28-year-old Brandon A. Wood was taken into custody after allegedly fleeing from law enforcement on a motorcycle. According to the arresting officer’s statement, the pursuit began around 9:15 p.m. on August 20, 2023, when an officer observed a motorcycle speeding on Highland Avenue. The officer attempted a traffic stop, but the rider accelerated, turning onto 10th Street and eventually Libby Street, where the motorcycle reportedly crashed in the 600 block.

After the crash, Wood allegedly fled on foot, jumping fences and running through alleys. Officers from the Clarkston Police Department and Asotin County Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive search, eventually locating an individual identified as Wood hiding under a bush at a residence on 6th Street. He was reportedly found with approximately $1,000 in cash and sustained visible injuries from the crash, prompting a call for medical assistance.

During the search, officers recovered a black Osprey backpack believed to belong to Wood. A search warrant revealed the bag contained 700 fentanyl pills, two 9mm firearms, and a BB gun resembling a Glock 17, according to court documents. One of the firearms, a Springfield Armory XD-9, was reported stolen from Liberty Lake during a home burglary in February 2023. Additional cash was found in the backpack, bringing the total seized to $1,388.

Court documents indicate Wood has six prior felony convictions in Washington, along with convictions in Idaho. He also had multiple active warrants, including a nationwide felony warrant out of Idaho for probation violation. On August 22, 2023, the Asotin County Prosecuting Attorney filed a motion for an order of probable cause, the issuance of a warrant, and bail set at $75,000.

Wood faced charges of attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of methamphetamine. The case remains under investigation, and Wood is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Wood was arrested on the related warrant on February 18, 2025, and is currently being held in the Asotin County Jail as of the morning of February 19, 2025.
