WASHINGTON, D.C. – America250 has announced the opening of the America’s Field Trip 2025 contest, inviting students in grades 3 through 12 to share their perspectives on what America means to them. The contest offers winners the opportunity to visit historic and cultural sites across the United States.
Students can participate by submitting either artwork or an essay that reflects their personal view of America. Eligible submissions must be completed individually and entered by a teacher, parent, or legal guardian through the contest application portal. The submission deadline is April 16, 2025, at 5 p.m. ET.
Entries will be judged by a panel of current and former educators, focusing on clarity of idea (25%), student voice (50%), and presentation (25%).
The contest will award 25 first-place winners from each grade level category, along with a designated chaperone, a three-day, two-night trip to a notable American site, such as the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, National Archives Museum, Kennedy Space Center, or Yellowstone National Park. Additionally, 25 second-place winners from each grade level category will receive a $500 cash prize. Winners will be announced in May 2025, with field trips scheduled for July and August 2025.
Students who placed first or second in the 2024 pilot contest, which ended May 17, 2024, are not eligible to participate in this round.
