Fundraiser Launched for Pullman Firefighter Injured in Crash With Semi

Firefighter Pita

PULLMAN – An online fundraiser has been launched for a Pullman Firefighter who was injured in a crash on Monday.

According to fundraiser organizers, Pita was involved in a head-on collision with a semi-truck. The crash occurred after she had just gotten off a 48-hour shift with the Pullman Fire Department. “She was trapped for over an hour. Due to severe snowfall, the air ambulance was unable to fly, so they had to drive her 45 minutes to the nearest trauma center, straight into a 10-hour surgery. The crash left her with severe, life-threatening injuries that required immediate and ongoing medical treatment. She suffered open femur fractures, tib-fib fractures, internal bleeding, orbital fractures, and many more injuries. As she faces an uncertain road to recovery, we are reaching out to family, friends, and the community for support,” says the GoFundMe page.

“The road to recovery is long, and with mounting medical bills, rehabilitation costs, and the emotional toll this has taken, your help can make a tremendous difference in her recovery journey,” say fundraiser organizers.
