CLARKSTON, WA – Clarkston’s roundabout at the intersection of Bridge and Diagonal streets is on track for completion by April 1st, according to Public Works Director Mike Dimmick. The delay has been due to asphalt plants being inactive during the winter months.

“The Bridge Street roundabout is scheduled to be completed by April 1st,” Dimmick said. “The delay is due to the asphalt plants not operating during the winter months. I also look forward to its completion.”

The project, which began in May 2024, required road closures in the area, including portions of Bridge Street, 2nd Street, and Diagonal Street. The city’s goal has been to improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection.

Additional infrastructure projects are scheduled for the summer. Safe Route to School projects are planned for Grantham Elementary School and Holy Family School, with construction set to begin after school lets out for the summer. Efforts will be made to complete work before the school year resumes or to ensure minimal disruption to school operations.

A new roundabout is also planned at the intersection of Poplar and 13th Street, with construction expected to start in the summer. Meanwhile, the city is moving forward with stormwater system improvements to enhance drainage and infrastructure reliability.

Residents can find more details on these projects by visiting the City of Clarkston’s Public Works Department website.
