LEWISTON, ID – Warrior Men’s Tennis wrapped up an action-packed weekend with a 7-0 sweep of the NCAA Division III Whitman Blues on Sunday in the Tennis Center. LC State won every match with three doubles and six singles victories.
The Warriors won all three doubles matches by scores of 6-2. Gautam Balakrishnan and Nell Rollin (No. 1 doubles) and Juan Pablo Naranjo and Eduard Silva (No. 3 doubles) led their matches from the start. Austin Swing and Alvaro Camino battled back from trailing 2-1 to take the No. 2 doubles contest.
Balakrishnan, Swing and Camino each earned singles win as well as doubles. Swing won his No. 3 contest 6-0, 6-4, Balakrishnan won No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-2 and Camino picked up a 7-5, 6-3 win in the fifth spot.
Pablo Herrera won the top matchup in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. Fellow freshman Giacomo Moreira earned a 5-7, 6-0, 1-0 (10-7) come-from-behind win in No. 2 singles, and newcomer Cesar Coloma won the sixth singles match 6-1, 6-2.
