EPHRATA, WA – Authorities say a small plane went missing Tuesday afternoon in central Washington state.
The flight originated in Yakima bound for Chelan. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, a search was initiated on Tuesday night.
A Marine Unit and drones were utilized to search the area where the last aircraft data was detected, near the Gorge Amphitheater along the Columbia River, but no sign of the plane was found. The pilot was reportedly the only person onboard.
At about 3:45 a.m., authorities said the area had been checked by boat and drones and no signs of the plane were found. Due to safety concerns, the search was suspended until daylight.
