LEWISTON, ID – The Idaho Department of Education will host a series of Educator Career Fairs across the state in April, providing an opportunity for school districts, charter schools, and prospective educators to connect. One of the events is scheduled for April 30 at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston.
The career fairs aim to help ensure Idaho schools are fully staffed with qualified educators. Certified teachers, those eligible for certification, and individuals interested in entering the profession are encouraged to attend. Some districts and charter schools may conduct interviews on-site.
“These career fairs give our schools a head start on maintaining a strong teaching staff while offering those looking to get started on their careers the chance to become an educator and make a difference for Idaho students,” said Superintendent of Public Instruction Debbie Critchfield.
In addition to recruitment, the Idaho Department of Education’s Certification and Professional Standards Division and Career Technical Education staff will provide training for school staff on topics such as alternative authorizations, professional endorsements, and assignment reporting.
The career fairs will take place at the following locations:
- April 1 – Galaxy Event Center, Meridian
- April 23 – Hilton Garden Inn, Idaho Falls
- April 24 – Herrett Center for Arts and Sciences, Twin Falls
- April 29 – North Idaho College, Coeur d’Alene
- April 30 – Lewis-Clark State College, Lewiston
Prospective educators are encouraged to dress professionally and bring copies of their resumes. Space for districts and charters is limited, with registration on a first-come, first-served basis.
More details, including registration information, are available on the Idaho Department of Education’s Career Fair website.
