MERIDIAN, ID – A fifth-grade student from Prairie Elementary School in Cottonwood has been named the Idaho state winner of the 42nd Annual National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest.
10-year-old Lillia Kaschmitter created a poster that illustrates messages of love being sent to and returned from missing children. Her artwork was recognized for its message of hope and remembrance.
“Lillia’s artwork is more than just a poster—it’s a message of love, hope, and awareness,” said Kara Kelley, Idaho Missing Persons Clearinghouse Manager. “Her piece captures the deep emotions surrounding missing children and the unwavering commitment to bringing them home.”
Kaschmitter enjoys sports, fishing, camping, and swimming, with math as her favorite school subject.
Her poster will advance to the national competition, where it will compete against entries from other states. The national winner will be recognized in Washington, D.C., during the National Missing Children’s Day ceremony in May.
The Idaho State Police thanked all students, teachers, and parents who participated in the contest for their efforts in raising awareness about child safety.
