SPOKANE, WA – Spokane County law enforcement officials seized multiple firearms and narcotics while executing a search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into a December shooting incident. The operation, led by the Regional Anti-Violence Enforcement & Narcotics (RAVEN) Task Force, resulted in the arrest of a suspect for firearm and drug-related charges.

The case originated on December 15, 2024, when Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported shooting at an apartment complex in the 7000 block of N. Atlantic. Authorities determined that multiple suspects had allegedly threatened to kill a victim and fired a pistol into the air. Three suspects—Jeison J. Ruiz Rodriguez, 26-year-old; Cesar A. Ruiz, 22-year-old; and Luis D. Ruiz Rodriguez, 30-year-old—were arrested in the days following the incident on charges of felony harassment with threats to kill.

Further investigation by RAVEN led to the arrest of Juan J. Rodriguez Hernandez, 53-year-old, for Alien Possession of a Firearm. Investigators obtained a search warrant for his residence in the 5300 block of W. Woodside Avenue, which was executed on March 5, 2025, with assistance from the Warrant Service Group and SWAT personnel.

During the search, investigators discovered a glass pipe and a bag containing a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine. Rodriguez Hernandez was booked into the Spokane County Jail on firearm and drug charges but was released on his own recognizance following a Spokane County Superior Court hearing the next day.

Authorities confirmed that drugs and multiple firearms were seized from the residence. The investigation remains active, and additional arrests or charges may follow.

RAVEN is a multi-agency task force consisting of members from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Spokane Valley Police Department, Washington State Department of Corrections, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Administration, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
