LEWISTON, ID – Warrior Men’s Tennis earned its third straight victory with a 5-2 win over NCAA Division III Whitman on Saturday. LC State has defeated Whitman in both meetings this season.
The Warriors fell behind early after Whitman took the doubles point. Giacomo Moreira and Eduardo Silva were the lone pair to earn a win and did so in the No. 2 spot.
Austin Swing won in the No. 1 singles spot in straight sets. He edged his opponent in the first frame before a solid win in the second for a 7-6 (7-1), 6-3 victory. Rafael Bonnet de Larbogne made his spring debut with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles.
Juan Pablo Naranjo earned a three-set win in the fourth slot. The junior fell in a tie breaker in the first before battling back to take the next two in his 6-7 (6-8), 7-5, 6-1 win. Emmett Heiss also rallied through three sets for a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3) win at No. 5 singles.
Cesar Coloma earned a win by default in the No. 6 spot.
