PULLMAN, WA – Acting Chief Aaron Breshears has announced three internal appointments and promotions at the Pullman Police Department.
“We understand that change can bring uncertainty, but our officers and staff remain steadfast in their duty to serve and protect. Their experience and continued leadership will be a valuable resource to the Police Department, the City of Pullman, and the community at large”, said Breshears.
Ruben Harris has been appointed as the Acting Operations Commander. The appointment is effective April 1st, 2025. Harris has served as a Pullman Police Officer since 1998, with many specialized roles including Patrol Sergeant and Whitman County Regional SWAT Team Commander.
Brock Westerman has been appointed as Acting Sergeant, to fill the Patrol Sergeant vacancy previously held by Harris. The appointment is effective April 1st, 2025. Beginning his career with Washington State University Police Department, Westerman has been in local law enforcement since 2010.
Nathan Padrta was promoted to Sergeant on February 27th, 2025. He will serve as a Patrol Sergeant, to fill a staffing shortage created by a retirement. Padrta has been a law enforcement officer since 2013, serving Whitman County, Oak Harbor, and the City of Pullman.
