U of I’s Annual DancersDrummersDreamers Takes the Stage March 20-22

MOSCOW, ID –  The 34th annual DancersDrummersDreamers (DDD) returns Thursday through Saturday, March 20-22, at University of Idaho’s Hartung Theater in Moscow.

DDD is a collaboration between the U of I Dance Program and the Lionel Hampton School of Music. The concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. March 20-22, with an additional performance at 2 p.m. March 22.

DancersDrummersDreamers was founded in 1991 by Professor Emerita Diane Walker and Professor Dan Bukvich. It features original music and choreography by university students and is the only program of its kind in the country. This year it will also feature new DDD ensemble works and a dance work by guest artist Juan Carlos Claudio performed by the UIdaho Dance Ensemble.

“DancersDrummersDreamers is playful, fun, high energy and surprising,” Bukvich said. “It is always a great show.”

Student innovation is a key aspect of the show, according to Dance Co-Program Coordinator Melanie J. Meenan.

“In our 34th season, DDD continues to honor a legacy of student leadership and innovation,” Meenan said. “New works by student dance choreographers and music composers is at the heart of this annual production. It’s exciting to witness the growth, dedication and creativity of our students in this music and dance community favorite.”

Tickets range from $10 to $16.50 and can be purchased at uitickets.com. A stream of the event will be available Monday, March 24, through Sunday, March 30. Tickets for the virtual event start at $10 at uitickets.com.
