LEWISTON, ID – With March coming to a close, drivers in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington need to remove studded tires before upcoming deadlines to avoid fines.

In Oregon and Washington, studded tires must be removed by March 31. Law enforcement may issue citations to those still using them after this date. The Oregon Department of Transportation urges drivers to remove them early to prevent road damage.

Idaho allows studded tires until April 30, giving drivers an extra month. However, officials recommend switching to regular tires sooner if winter conditions no longer require them.

Drivers should plan ahead and check road conditions, as fines may apply for those still using studded tires past the deadlines.
