CLARKSTON, WA – The roundabout construction at the intersection of Bridge and Diagonal streets in Clarkston is slated to resume on March 24, with completion expected by April 9.
According to Clarkston Public Works Director Mike Dimmick, the delay in paving is due to a Washington state restriction that prevents roadway paving before April 1. Despite this, contractors are prepared to begin work later this month to finalize the project.
Construction on the $2.3 million project initially began in May 2024 and aims to improve traffic flow and safety at the busy intersection.
Looking ahead, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is also planning additional improvements in Clarkston. This includes repaving State Route 129 through downtown and constructing a new roundabout at the intersection of SR 129, Diagonal, and Maple Streets. That project is slated to begin in the spring of 2025.
For further updates on the roundabout and future projects, residents can contact the Clarkston Public Works Department or visit WSDOT’s project pages.
