CLARKSTON, WA – Two Clarkston residents were arrested Monday morning following a narcotics investigation that led to a SWAT team search of a home on 8th Street.
According to court documents, Benjamin McKenzie and Mona McKenzie were taken into custody on March 24, 2025, and booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Both were arrested at approximately 10:10 a.m. following the execution of a search warrant by the Lewiston Regional SWAT Team and Clarkston Police.
The investigation began earlier this year when authorities received information alleging methamphetamine was being sold from the residence. Officers conducted surveillance and reported ongoing foot and vehicle traffic consistent with drug activity. Reports state that narcotics were being transported from the Yakima area and stored at the residence, particularly in a bedroom believed to belong to Mona McKenzie.
On the evening of March 23, Benjamin McKenzie was stopped by officers and allegedly found in possession of approximately 1.5 ounces of methamphetamine and $200 in cash. Due to safety concerns, police delayed the full search of the residence until the next morning.
During the search, officers located approximately 10 ounces of methamphetamine, electronic scales, packaging materials, and over $2,000 in cash. The drugs were primarily found in Mona McKenzie’s bedroom and a dryer inside the home. An unloaded rifle was also located in a closet.
Court documents state both individuals denied active involvement in selling narcotics, with Mona McKenzie admitting only to being a user. However, officers concluded there was sufficient probable cause to support charges against both Benjamin and Mona McKenzie based on the controlled buys, surveillance, and evidence recovered from the home.
The investigation remains ongoing.
