LEWISTON, ID – The Lewiston Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1307 3rd Street on Monday night.
At about 11:00 p.m., a caller told dispatchers the kitchen of the home was on fire and they were currently getting everyone out of the house.
Lewiston Police Officers arrived first and assisted occupants exiting the building and advised fire crews to access from the rear of the structure.
According to the Lewiston Fire Department, the first arriving engine company started fighting the fire and was soon joined by a Clarkston Fire Department engine company. The flames were knocked down quickly. Crews then began to ventilate and check for any fire extension in the building. Crews were on scene for approximately two hours to contain hotspots.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The estimated damage to the structure and contents is $100,000.
There were no injuries reported.
The Lewiston Fire Department responded with three structural engines, two ambulances, three chief officers and one fire inspector. Clarkston Fire Department responded with one structural engine as part of the Valley Auto Aid Agreement. A total of of 21 personnel responded.
