NAMPA, ID — A 12-year-old child reported abducted Thursday night was found safe after the Nampa Police Department issued an Amber Alert.
According to authorities, the alert was triggered around 9:30 p.m. on March 27, when dispatch received a report from the child’s adoptive mother. She said the child had been taken by her non-custodial biological mother, 36-year-old Gabriela Inguez of Nampa. The two were seen leaving the residence in a gray four-door passenger vehicle with an unidentified man.
The Amber Alert was issued across Idaho, asking the public to assist in locating the child and suspect. After receiving the alert on her phone, Inguez contacted the Nampa Police Department and provided their location.
Officers responded to a residence in Nampa, where the child was found unharmed. Inguez was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Canyon County Jail on felony kidnapping charges.
Police credited the alert system and the public’s quick attention for helping bring the situation to a safe and timely resolution.
