ASOTIN, WA — Asotin County Fire Protection District No. 1 is inviting community members to participate in the election process by joining pro and con committees for an upcoming emergency medical services (EMS) levy proposition.
The District recently adopted Resolution No. 2025-04, which calls for a ballot measure to be presented to voters on August 5, 2025. The proposition would authorize the District to restore its EMS levy rate to $0.50 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
To ensure balanced information is included in the official voters’ pamphlet, the District is looking for individuals interested in writing statements in favor of or against the measure. Participants will serve on either the pro or con committee, depending on their stance.
Those interested are encouraged to contact Fire Chief Noel Hardin by 3 p.m. on April 8, 2025, at the Fire District station. He can be reached by phone at 509-758-5181. Committee appointments must be finalized and submitted to the county by May 2, 2025.
