Lewiston Fire Department Responds to Burrell Avenue House Fire

 

House FireLEWISTON, ID — The Lewiston Fire Department responded to a structure fire Friday morning on the 1400 block of Burrell Avenue. The call came in at 9:15 a.m., reporting smoke and flames visible from the residence, with two vehicles in the driveway and unknown occupancy status.

Upon arrival, fire crews began attacking the fire and searching the home. Two dogs were rescued unharmed from the structure, and a neighbor had secured two additional dogs belonging to the homeowners. No one was home at the time. The residents were later contacted and arrived at the scene.

Firefighters continued to check for fire extension and conducted overhaul operations. Once the fire was fully extinguished, investigators began determining the cause, which remains under investigation.

A total of 19 personnel responded to the incident, including three structural engines, three ambulances, three chief officers, and one fire inspector. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters. Damage to the structure and its contents is estimated at $110,000.
