MOSCOW, ID — A record-breaking Vandal Giving Day has helped the University of Idaho surpass a significant milestone in its largest fundraising effort to date.
During the 1,889-minute online event held April 1-2, donors contributed over $1.28 million—nearly $153,000 more than the previous year, marking a 13.5% increase. The university also saw a rise in participation, with 2,411 gifts made compared to 2,324 last year.
The fundraising success pushed the university’s Brave. Bold. Unstoppable. campaign past its original $500 million goal. Launched in 2015, the campaign is the most ambitious philanthropic effort in Idaho’s history and is set to continue through the end of 2025.
University of Idaho President Scott Green described the achievement as a reflection of the institution’s momentum and the public’s belief in its mission.
“Our Vandal Family has shown that when we invest in education, research and innovation, we are building a thriving Idaho and world for all,” Green said in a statement.
While most donations came from Idaho and Washington, the event also attracted gifts from across the U.S. and internationally—including France, Australia, Wales, and Chile.
Proceeds from the campaign support scholarships, research, and university programs throughout the state.
