School of Career & Technical Education Welcomes New Students

LEWISTON, ID – Lewis-Clark State College’s School of Career & Technical Education held its third annual NC3 National Letter of Intent Signing Day on Thursday.
The event welcomed new and prospective career and technical education (CTE) students who plan to attend LC State next fall and major in one of the college’s 21 CTE programs.

The event, which is part of the NC3 Leadership Schools National Signing Day, was held at the college’s Williams Conference Center. It was also live streamed
simultaneously with and alongside dozens of colleges CTE signing events across the country.

Special guests in attendance included Idaho Division of Career Technical Education’s Chief of Staff Tia Davis, NC3 and Festo representative from Advanced Technologies
Consultants Colt La’akea Almodova, LC State President Cynthia Pemberton, and LC State Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs Fred Chilson.

LC State is a National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) Leadership School member. NC3 was established to help connect employers with educational institutions
to prepare industry-ready employees, both now and in the future. NC3 builds this employer-educational institution partnership through certifications built on national skill standards.

The national event mirrors the NCAA’s National Signing Day for athletes who commit to play sports in college. It is designed to honor students who are entering
a technical field and to celebrate the dignity of work.
