SPOKANE, WA – Eight different Warrior women collected personal bests and Sydnie Zywina bettered her NAIA mark in the triple jump on Friday at Whitworth’s Jeff Rahn Classic.

“Another good day for Warrior Track and Field,” coach Mike Collins said. “We didn’t have any new national qualifiers, but we definitely had a lot of season bests and personal bests. Making progress is a huge thing when it comes to week-by-week analysis of what we are trying to do. I’m really encouraged right now with where we are at as a lot of the athletes moved up in the NAIA national rankings.”

Zywina bettered her season mark in the triple jump with the fourth-best jump in the NAIA this season. She won the event with a mark of 11.94m for a provisional standard for nationals. She was second in the long jump (5.46m) and Karissa Lindner was 12^th (4.95m).

Both Emily Collins and Lindner ran personal best times in the 200m to better their marks in the record book. Lindner finished eighth with the second-best time ever by a Warrior (25.42) and Collins ran the fifth-best time to place 12^th (25.85). Lindner was ninth in the 100m (12.61) and Collins was second in the 400m (57.62).

Damaris Kibiwot ran the fourth-fastest 5,000m in program history and was eighth at the meet with her time of 17:50.96. The time is nearly 20 seconds faster than her previous personal-best. Lily Bennett finished 17^th with a time of 18:54.19.

Four Warrior women had personal best marks in the hammer throw. Grace Osborne led the way with a seventh-place finish (44.81m), Faith Wersland was 11^th (42.14m), Haylee Appleford placed 15^th (39.25m) and Hope Zollman was 19^th (34.46m), all with PRs. Jacklin Linnemeyer finished 21^st (31.77m).

Appleford led the throwers in the shot put with a sixth-place finish (12.17m). Zollman was 12^th (10.94m), Wersland tied her PR (10.04m) to place 17^th and Linnemeyer was 18^th (9.23m).

Osborne was the top Warrior in the discus with a throw of 34.73m. Appleford was 14^th (33.81m), Zollman was 15^th (33.67m) and Linnemeyer threw a PR of 32.20m to finish 17^th. Gianna Anderson finished fifth in the javelin (36.19m).

Grace Tiegs ran in her first 3,000m steeplechase and earned the win with a time of 11:58.93. Tiegs was 18^th in the 800m (2:21.92) and Grace McCormick was 18^th in the 1,500m (5:07.22).
