COEUR D’ALENE, ID – Athletes, teams and coaches from the Lewis-Clark State College Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs, as well as the LC State Baseball and Track and Field programs, were selected as finalists for the 62nd annual North Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame awards. Alton Hamilton was named the North Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame Male Athlete of the Year in the college division.
The award winners were announced at the annual banquet on April 12 at the Coeur d’Alene Resort.
The awards honor both college and high school athletes from the spring and fall sports of 2024 and the recently completed winter sports of 2024-25. For the college awards, athletes, teams and coaches are selected from LC State, the University of Idaho and North Idaho College.
Hamilton represented LC State in the Male Athlete of the Year category after a stellar season that culminated with First-Team NAIA All-America, NABC All-America and Cascade Conference Player of the Year honors.
The LC State Women’s Basketball teams, which advanced to the NAIA national tournament, was nominated for Female Team of the Year. Mike Collins (cross country and track and field) was a finalist for Men’s Coach of the Year and Caelyn Orlandi was nominated for Women’s Coach of the Year,
