Signorelli Drives in Four as Warrior Baseball Sweeps C of I

LEWISTON, ID – Timely hitting secured the series sweep of The College of Idaho on Sunday for LC State Baseball with an 11-9 win over the Yotes. Dominic Signorelli had a big day at the plate where he went 2-for-3 with four RBI.

The victory improves the LC State record to 28-10 overall and 24-5 in Cascade Conference play and keeps the Warriors in a tie for first place in the CCC.

The Warriors chipped away at the C of I lead in the bottom of the fourth. Noah Weintraub walked, and Jakob Marquez was hit by a pitch before a single by Brandon Cabrera plated a run. Signorelli wore a pitch off the leg to load the bases and a walk to Abe Affholter brought in a run. Bulla Ephan had the score within one with a sacrifice fly to make it 5-4. Sheward tied up the game with a hard-hit fielder’s choice to drive in Signorelli.

College of Idaho regained the lead in the top of the fifth with two hits off freshman Levi Anderson before a strikeout ended the inning. A three-run blast by Signorelli put LC State back on top. Marquez doubled to right center and Cabrera walked to put two on and Signorelli made it 8-6 with one swing of the bat.

A caught stealing by Ephan came up clutch in the top of the sixth and a strikeout by Jake Green kept the lead at two.

LC State added a run in the home half of the sixth. Weintraub singled before walks to Marquez and Signorelli loaded the bases. Pinch hitter Garrett Bevacqua worked a third walk in the inning for an RBI and a 9-6 advantage. Sheward made it 10-6 with a solo shot in the bottom of the seventh.

After coming into the game in the eighth inning, Kolby Solomon closed things out in the ninth to earn the save.
