CLARKSTON, WA – A Clarkston man was arrested Sunday after law enforcement responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Maple Street.
According to a statement of probable cause, officers with the Clarkston Police Department were dispatched around 3:50 p.m. to a physical domestic situation involving a male and female. Upon arrival, officers encountered the male suspect exiting a vehicle near the residence. He was ordered to the ground, taken into custody, and later identified as 42-year-old Nathan Michael Combs.
The female party involved was visibly upset and reported that she had recently spent time at Combs’ residence in Lewiston, where she alleged physical assault occurred. She stated she had returned to Clarkston earlier in the day and had been attempting to avoid further contact when Combs arrived at her home uninvited. According to the report, she attempted to hide, but Combs found her, physically assaulted her, and dragged her from the residence by her hair.
When another person at the residence attempted to intervene, Combs allegedly assaulted him as well. That individual was later treated at a local hospital for injuries including facial trauma, scrapes, and a suspected concussion.
The probable cause document describes a history of domestic violence between Combs and the female party. The report also includes previous allegations of physical abuse and controlling behavior.
Combs was transported to the Asotin County Jail and booked on charges of Burglary in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree (domestic violence), Assault in the Second Degree, and Kidnapping in the First Degree.
The investigation is ongoing.
