Clarkston School District and WSU Among Recipients of $900K in Rural Education Grants

CLARKSTON, WA –  Clarkston School District and Washington State University are among the recipients of more than $900,000 in grants awarded to rural communities across Eastern Washington by LaunchNW.

The funding, distributed through LaunchNW, supports initiatives aimed at strengthening the pathway from high school to postsecondary education and careers. Clarkston School District will receive $50,000 to enhance its high school-to-career transition programming in collaboration with the Southeast Washington Economic Development Association.

Washington State University will also receive $50,000 to expand its healthcare education programs, with a focus on encouraging rural students to explore careers in the medical field.

Other school districts receiving awards include Reardan, Lind-Ritzville, Newport, Nine Mile Falls, Chewelah, Riverside, Dayton, Northport, and Republic. Projects range from FAFSA completion events to industry-specific training and partnerships with local businesses.

LaunchNW is an initiative of the Innovia Foundation, a Spokane-based nonprofit working to build opportunity and support for students in underserved areas.
