Moscow Pavement Restoration Project on White Ave to Begin Next Week, Finish Expected by Summer

MOSCOW, ID – A major pavement restoration project for White Avenue is scheduled to begin on April 21, 2025, and will affect the stretch between Mountain View Road and the Troy Highway (Hwy. 8). The City of Moscow announced that the project will involve a grind and inlay process to remove and replace two inches of asphalt. Additionally, the project will include an extension of the existing 10-foot asphalt pathway toward Mountain View Road.

The restoration project is expected to include the following improvements:

  • Asphalt grinding and inlay along White Avenue
  • Pathway extension
  • Construction of ADA-compliant pedestrian crosswalks
  • Curb, gutter, and driveway approach replacements
  • Sidewalk additions along the extended pathway
  • Upgrades to storm water infrastructure

While White Avenue is expected to remain open during the majority of the project, city officials warn of temporary delays and lane shifts. Occasional lane and road closures will be necessary while work is underway, and residents are advised to watch for detour signs near the construction area.

The project is expected to be completed in early July 2025.

Residents with questions or concerns about access during construction may contact the City of Moscow Engineering Division at (208) 883-7034 or visit the City’s construction projects webpage at https://www.ci.moscow.id.us/511/Construction-Projects.

The city emphasized that ADA accessibility remains a top priority. If any part of the project limits access to public services, residents are encouraged to call (208) 883-7600.
