SPOKANE, WA — A 60-year-old man wanted in North Carolina on allegations involving the assault of a physically disabled minor has been arrested in Spokane.
Marshall Foster was located and taken into custody on April 15 by the U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force. He is the subject of a felony arrest warrant issued April 10 by the General Court of Justice in Forsyth County, North Carolina. The warrant includes a charge of second-degree forcible sexual offense involving a minor.
The Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force requested assistance from its Pacific Northwest counterpart after investigators determined Foster had traveled to Washington. Local and federal agencies involved in the arrest included the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the FBI’s Spokane office, U.S. Border Patrol, and the Washington State Department of Corrections.
“Inter-state and inter-agency communication and cooperation have once again resulted in the apprehension of a fugitive, who will now answer their criminal charges in a court of law,” said U.S. Marshal Craig Thayer.
Foster was booked into the Spokane County Jail pending extradition to North Carolina.
The Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force is a multi-agency partnership operating across Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. Its mission is to locate and apprehend individuals wanted for the most violent state and federal offenses.
