LEWISTON, ID – The Idaho State Police Commercial Vehicle Safety (CVS) Division conducted a statewide enforcement effort last week, resulting in 735 inspections of commercial vehicles across the state. The focus areas included the Canadian border near Bonners Ferry and the Lewiston region.

As part of the enforcement, 34 drivers and 127 vehicles were placed out of service due to critical safety violations. The effort aimed to remove unsafe vehicles and unfit drivers from Idaho roadways, supporting ISP’s ongoing commitment to public safety.

“Last week, our dedicated Commercial Vehicle Safety specialists across Idaho worked tirelessly to uphold the highest standards of safety on our roadways,” said Captain Jason Bailey of the ISP CVS Division. “From the Canadian Border near Bonners Ferry to Pocatello, CVS took vigilant enforcement against unsafe commercial vehicle conditions and operations, making a tangible impact.”

The Idaho State Police stated that these efforts are part of their mission to ensure safe and responsible transportation throughout the state.
