TROY, ID – Lawn watering in Troy is now being restricted by a new ordinance that tries to protect the city’s water supply. According to a post on the city’s Facebook page Troy City Council approved the new ordinance this month.
Lawn watering with sprinklers in the City of Troy is now only allowed during the outdoor irrigation season. That season will be determined by the city’s public works director.
During the season lawn watering can only take place between 6:00 in the afternoon and 10:00 the next morning. Even numbered addresses in Troy can only water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during the season.
Odd numbered addresses can only water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the season. Sprinkler lawn watering in Troy is now banned on Sundays. Multiple violations of the new outdoor irrigation ordinance in Troy can lead to fines and losing water service.
The Cities of Moscow and Pullman have similar restrictions on outdoor irrigation.
