LCSC Women’s Golf Remains in Third at Conference Championships

PORTLAND, OR – The Warrior Women’s Golf team remains in third place after the second round of the Cascade Conference Golf Championships on Tuesday. Isabella Barquet moved up two spots to a tie for sixth at Glendoveer Golf Club.

“The women had a great start today,” coach Zach Anderson said. “Nice to see some putts go in early. Unfortunately, we couldn’t keep that momentum going and really struggled down the stretch.”

Barquet shaved a stroke off her first round for a round of 4-over-par on Tuesday to improve to a tie for sixth place. She is 9-over for the tournament so far. Barquet carded a pair of birdies, as did teammate Giulia Belfontali who shot 6-over to move up two spots to a tie for 12th.

Sophomore Chase Caruso carded a 9-over round and is tied for 15th place heading into the final round on Wednesday. Teammate Dallis Shockey is three strokes behind her in 17th place overall.

Natalia Gomez rounds out the top five for LC State after a tough round on Tuesday puts her in 18th place in the field of 40.
