LAPWAI, ID — A Lapwai woman has been arrested following an incident in which she allegedly struck another woman with a vehicle after a reported altercation.
According to the Nez Perce Tribal Police Department, officers responded to a report of a traumatic injury at approximately 10:00 a.m. on April 19 near the grain bins across from Valley Foods in Lapwai. Upon arrival, officers found a female victim lying on her side in the grass. The victim stated she had been intentionally struck by an SUV following a physical confrontation.
The victim was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Witnesses at the scene told officers that the driver of a Chevy Traverse fled the area after the incident. The driver was identified as Jerri Copapoo of Lapwai.
On April 21, officers located Copapoo at her residence and arrested her on felony warrants. She was booked into the Clearwater County Jail on a charge of attempted murder. Bond was set at $100,000.
