Pasture Management Workshop Scheduled in Orofino for May 9

OROFINO, ID — A Pasture Management Workshop aimed at helping landowners improve their pasture systems is scheduled for Friday, May 9, 2025, in Orofino.

Hosted by University of Idaho Extension, Clearwater County, the workshop will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the UI Extension office, located at 2200 Michigan Avenue. The program will cover weed control strategies for invasive species such as yellow starthistle, wild rose, and ventenata, as well as techniques for pasture establishment, renovation, and grazing management.

An afternoon field session will provide hands-on instruction in pasture assessment and improvement techniques. Attendees are advised to bring a sack lunch and dress for outdoor activities.

Space is limited, and participants must register by Monday, May 5. The $15 registration fee covers program materials. The workshop has been approved for four Idaho State Department of Agriculture pesticide applicator credits.
