SURPRISE, AZ – Three LC State Warriors earned All-Great Southwest Athletic Conference honors, announced by the conference office on Thursday. Seniors April Buckingham, Beatriz Lambru and Heidi Moyo each earned GSAC recognition in their lone season in the conference.
“It is always a nice honor to be recognized in the conference, especially when we are not a known entity in this conference,” coach Kai Fong said. “We have been part of the Red River Grouping the past four years and this is our debut season in the GSAC. All three seniors have put in their time as a Warrior. Each brought her own contribution to make a mark in the conference as part of a team.”
Buckingham, the ITA West Region Most Improved Player in 2024, went 5-4 this season in singles action primarily out of the fifth and sixth spots. She has seven wins in doubles with the majority of doubles play spent in the No. 1 slot.
Lambru has been a key doubles player for the Warriors this season with a team-high nine wins. She has five doubles victories in the top spot. With her victory in the GSAC semifinal against Arizona Christian on Wednesday, she has four singles wins in her final season.
Moyo finished her season with eight doubles wins, with seven of those being between the top two spots. She is 4-6 in singles action with a large portion of the season spent in the No. 1 singles spot.
