LEWISTON, Idaho – The No. 10 Warrior women cruised past seventh-seeded Corban on Wednesday to advance to the semifinal of the Cascade Conference Women’s Basketball Championship, presented by U.S. Bank, and will take on rival (RV) Southern Oregon on Saturday.
LC State wrapped up a dominant regular season as Cascade Conference Co-Champions and an automatic bid into the NAIA Women’s Basketball National Championship. LC State was awarded the No. 2 seed (via coin flip) in the CCC tournament.
Third-seeded SOU defeated sixth-seeded College of Idaho to advance to the semifinal in Lewiston. The Warriors took both meetings during the regular season.
LC State has advanced to the CCC postseason tournament in all three years it has been a member.
NO. 2 SEED – Lewis-Clark State (27-2, 21-1)
The Warriors finished a nearly perfect conference season with the only loss coming to conference co-champion EOU in overtime. The only other blemish in the regular season was a season-opening loss to then-No. 2 Westmont. After game one, LC State won 19 straight for the fourth-longest winning streak in program history, including wins over then-No. 25 Rocky Mountain and then-No. 9 Carroll.
LC State has won its last eight contests, including a 77-67 win over SOU. The Warriors are 6-4 against the Raiders dating back to 2012. LC took both meetings this season to avenge the loss to SOU in last season’s CCC title game. Callie Stevens dropped 20 points this season’s first meeting in Lewiston, then scored 19 in Ashland. Maddie Holm posted a 17-point, 14-rebound double-double at SOU.
The LC Warriors lead the CCC and are second in the NAIA in field goal percentage defense (.325). They are the top team in the conference in blocked shots per game (4.2), scoring margin (18.3), steals per game (11.4), turnover margin (6.28), assist/turnover ratio (1.3) and 3-pointers made per game (8.0). LC is second in scoring offense (74.8), scoring defense (56.4), field goal percentage (.422), 3-point field goal percentage (.333), rebounding (43.3) and assists per game (16.4).
Stevens, the 2021-22 Cascade Conference Player of the Year, leads the team and is fourth in the CCC in scoring this season with 14.8 points per game. She is second in assists per game (3.7). Maddie Holm is fourth in the conference in rebounding (8.1). Ellie Sander leads the CCC in steals per game (2.3) and is fifth in field goal percentage (.496).
Hannah Broyles is eighth in the conference in scoring (13.2) and leads in 3-pointers made per game (2.9). Sara Muehlhausen is the top blocker in the CCC with 2.2 per game and tied her single-season career-high set last year at 65. Adyson Clabby leads the conference in assist/turnover ratio (3.8) and Stevens is second (2.6).
NO. 3 SEED – Southern Oregon (23-6, 18-4)
The Raiders have put together a strong season as the third-best team in the CCC. SOU opened the season with a 51-47 victory over then-No. 4 Carroll and only lost to LC State and No. 12 Eastern Oregon in Cascade Conference play. SOU’s other two losses were to then-No. 2 Westmont (Calif.) and William Jessup (Calif.).
Southern Oregon opened its CCC tournament with an impressive come-from-behind victory over College of Idaho on Wednesday. SOU trailed by eight at the start of the fourth quarter before outscoring the Yotes 28-7 to win 77-64. Kami Walk posted a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, Kalei Iwami scored 14 points, Clara Robbins tallied 13, Emma Schmerbach scored 12 and Brianna Phiakhamngon added 10.
The Raiders lead the CCC in scoring defense (55.8), are second in steals per game (10.7), turnover margin (3.93), and are third in scoring margin (9.4) and 3-pointers made per game (6.9).
Walk leads the team in scoring (14.3) and rebounding (8.) and ranks fifth in the conference in both. Phiakhamngon is ninth in scoring (13.0). Iwami leads the CCC in free throw percentage (.843).

LC State will host the semifinal contest on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the P1FCU Activity Center. The winner of the contest will move on to play in the CCC title game. The highest remaining seed will host the lowest remaining seed. All games in the women’s tournament will be played at 5:30 p.m. local time.
