Moscow Seeking Nominations for 2023 Mayor’s Earth Day Awards

February 24, 2023 (Moscow, Idaho) —  The City of Moscow is once again seeking nominations for the 2023 Mayor’s Earth Day awards.  Since 2006, the awards have recognized Moscow residents for sustainable practices that foster environmental sustainability through conservation, recycling, reuse, construction/design, and public education. Potential categories for the awards include:

  • Individuals
  • Businesses
  • Students/Schools
  • Non-profit
  • Service Organizations
  • Government
  • Building/Development
  • Green Visionaries (long-range environmental objectives)
  • Green Neighbors (from nearby communities). 

Worthy candidates who don’t fit into these categories will also be considered. 

Nominations should include the names of the nominator and nominee, contact information for both, and a brief description of why the nominee is worthy of recognition. 

Nominations are due by March 20, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. and may be submitted by letter to the City of Moscow, Administration Department (Attn: Sustainable Environment Commission), P.O. Box 9203 Moscow, ID 83843 or by email to the Sustainable Environment Commission at [email protected].  The Sustainable Environment Commission will forward recommendations to Mayor Art Bettge, who will determine the award winners.
