Red Ribbon Week is an annual event to remember the legacy of DEA Special Agent Enrique (Kiki) S. Camarena and to create awareness of the importance of living drug-free.
Camarena joined the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in 1974. He moved to Mexico and was on the trail of the country’s biggest marijuana and cocaine traffickers. In 1985, he was close to unlocking a multi-billion dollar drug pipeline when he was kidnapped and murdered.
Each year, thousands of people remember the life and sacrifice of Kiki Camarena and pledge to practice a drug-free lifestyle in his honor. Mark your calendar to participate in Red Ribbon Week events near you October 23-31. Help us commemorate the life of Special Agent Camarena and celebrate living drug-free.
