October 19, 2024

LEWISTON, Idaho – Propelled by a 16.5% increase in degree-seeking first-time students, Lewis-Clark State College’s fulltime equivalent enrollment is up 3.5% for fall 2024, according to the school’s official census day totals. LC State’s overall headcount has increased 2.4% and is the third most in school history

“We’re proud to welcome so many Warriors this fall,” LC State President Cynthia Pemberton said. “They’ve chosen LC State for a high-quality, affordable, small-college experience where they can thrive in our incredible programs and reach their full potential, and that’s exactly what we will deliver.”

LC State’s fulltime equivalent enrollment rose from 2,588 to 2,679, and its overall headcount is now 3,881, the most since 3,924 students attended in fall of 2016. The school’s highest headcount of 3,999 came in 2011.

The degree-seeking entering class of 538 students is the largest LC State has seen since 562 attended in fall 2017.

Divisions that are up include Technical & Industrial (14%), Business & Computer Science (8%), Nursing & Health Sciences (6%), and Social Sciences (1%).

LC State just wrapped up hosting the Idaho State Board of Education meeting where Pemberton gave the school’s annual report, announcing a number of highlights including the college’s recent completion of the final step of the Prison Education Program approval process. It is now one of only 11 approved Prison Education Programs in the nation. Pemberton also announced the launching of a Healthcare Immersive Learning Lab as well as an MOU with Idaho State University to help address the critical shortage of paramedics in rural Idaho.
