LEWISTON, ID – A trailer on fire was reported at 2710 East Main Street at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. According to the Lewiston Fire Department, a caller stated the trailer exploded and it was on fire with a possibility of people inside.
First arriving crews found a 20 foot camp trailer fully involved in fire. Two people met the initial ambulance crew and stated they were the ones in the trailer at the time of the explosion. No one else was reported injured. The two were treated and transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center with significant burn injuries. The scene was turned over to fire investigators and the Lewiston Police Department.
The cause is still under investigation. Damage was estimated at $3,000.
The department responded with two structural engines, one ambulance, one fire inspector and two chief officers.
