RICHLAND, WA – A Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper was involved in a fatal collision late Saturday evening in Richland while off duty and driving their personal vehicle. The trooper has since been taken into custody by the Richland Police Department (RPD), and an independent fatal collision investigation is now underway.
The crash resulted in one fatality, though details on the circumstances leading up to the incident remain under investigation. Authorities have not yet released information regarding potential contributing factors such as speed, impairment, or road conditions.
