MOSCOW, ID – Two Moscow Police Department officers have been awarded the Life Saving Award for their actions in assisting an unconscious man last month.
On February 6 at approximately 1 p.m., Officer Lanie and Officer Sneve responded to a report of an unconscious male near the intersection of 6th and Logan Streets. Upon arrival, Officer Lanie initiated chest compressions, while Officer Sneve cut away the patient’s shirt and began providing ventilations using a bag valve mask.
Moscow Volunteer Fire & Ambulance paramedics arrived and continued life-saving efforts, including the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The patient regained a pulse and was transported to a local hospital. His family later informed the department that he is recovering.
Officer Fuchs and Sergeant Thueson also assisted at the scene. Moscow Police Chief Anthony Dahlinger commended the officers for their efforts, stating that their response demonstrated their commitment to the community.
The Moscow Police Department and City of Moscow have recognized all officers involved for their service.
