LCSC Men’s Golf Advances to Title Round at Oregon Tournament

BANDON, OR – LC State Men’s Golf earned a spot in the championship round of the Bandon Crossings Collegiate match play tournament with a 3.5-0.5 victory over Simpson (Calif.) in Monday’s semifinal. Only one of the four matches went all 18 holes.

“Solid day for the Warriors,” coach Zach Anderson said. “We had a good game plan going into the matches and kept a solid lead most of the day. The men kept their minds on the match and didn’t let outside factors affect them. Proud of the way all eight battled and closed out each match. Big match for us tomorrow against a conference team. Excited for the opportunity to watch the fellas play again.”

Sophomores Luke West and Owen Pearson were the first group out and had the most dominant match. The pair had the quickest match with a 4 and 3 victory. Alex Navarro and Hunter Millsap earned a win in the second pairing at 2 and 1.

Kye Krall and Jaxon Moon were the lone pair to halve their match with a tie after 18 holes. Oscar Behle and Lucas Ortega did the same of Navarro and Millsap and were up two with one hole to play to win 2 and 1.
